Cool game!

Here are my thoughts:

  • Make it more obvious when you win a round or unlock a new door with a message appearing on screen or a sound effect.
  • Have a notepad to write down the working or even the question, so that when you go exploring to find the answer you can remember what you're looking for. This could be great if the levels ever expand in the future and you have to search for a longer amount of time.
  • Have hidden treasure chests (or something similar) that can give you power ups if you're able to solve an even harder equation. Something like a double jump to get past the red lines easier, or a sprint to move between levels faster.

I saw others have pointed at the FPS stuttering issues as well, but I'm sure that's something you'll be able to figure out in the future. Nice job!

Thanks jakob! i will be sure to add a more obvious win notification! and as well as the chest suggestion, that is something i will defiantly be implementing in the future

The game was pretty fun honestly, the assets and textures were good quality, the movement was responsive and satisfying and the game has a good pace to it. It would definitely be enjoyable as a child.

I think a mechanic where maybe you have to pickup the "answer"(meat) and take it to a chest or something below the question (or potentially a UI element) would be cool as it would help the users learning if their answer is actually correct rather than just being able to collect every item.

A volume slider or a longer sound loop would also be a welcome addition.

My game crashed once on level 2 but I did not experience any lag, and some textures on the walls like in the first level need some work. Otherwise great game :)

Thank you!! the meat & Chest mechanic idea sounds cool, i will definitely look into implementing that :)

(1 edit)

I loved the BGM, it was super cute and it definitely has a fun and child-like feeling when loading up the game. I like how there is an option to choose characters before getting into it. The main objective of the game is not hard to follow which is good for the intended target audience. Once in the game, I loved the monster theme and environment of the first level. And then a whole new theme once you complete the first level. I did have some lag issues when playing but that's probably because my PC is old lol.

One criticism I have with the game is probably the camera controls. The movement controls came naturally but I felt a little awkward having to hold my right-click to move my camera around. Also the jumping was kind of hard but I'm pretty sure that's just skill issue on my part lol

Great game :)

Alright i will look into fixing that feedback with the mouse, should be fixed by path 1.1 :)

Maybe it was just my computer, but I did find the game quite laggy, and I wish there were an option to turn motion blur off, as I usually find it quite disorienting.

Otherwise, it is a fantastic little game; my character was easy to control despite the lag, and I would imagine children would love exploring the environment as they learn basic maths. :D

I will look into the lag issue, as its not something im familiar with so i will look into figuring out the minimum requirements for what your computer will need in order to run the game :)

The controls are nice. I didnt find it hard to complete. It was easy to learn as well as move around. I like how it let me go back to main menu to try again after I finish the game.

thank you! will defiantly have more improvements over the months to come :)
